“Good Nutrition for Optimal Health”
Hi Friends,
Happy Thanksgiving! I’m your host Dr. Gold. I’m
a board-certified family medicine physician and also a holistic and functional
medicine doctor. As an athlete, I have personally seen the benefit that good
nutrition makes on athletic performance. It’s allowed me to have good stamina
and good power and strength and helped me to make it to the finish line of my
first full marathon without hitting the wall. It has also helped me with focus
and concentration, all key ingredients that will support you in life. This blog
will offer you simple, quick and affordable ways to bring more nutritious foods
into your life. I’d love for this to be interactive, so please feel free to ask
questions and share ideas. Below you’ll find a yummy easy recipe for pumpkin
pie.
Let’s meet Robin. She’s a busy mom of two, trying to lose weight,
have some more energy, sleep better and get stronger. Robin also makes the time
to work out on a regular basis. As a working mom to boot, she rarely has time
for herself. After obtaining a thorough history, I found out she rarely drinks
water. She also picks up a lot of fast food, “Just because it’s easy and the
kids love it. Seriously Dr. Gold it’s inexpensive, it’s quick, and I don’t have
time to cook.” I listened and then I asked her, “How do YOU want to LIVE? How
do you want your KIDS to LIVE?” Her kids were sick with colds at least a few
times a year (including herself and her husband) and they all suffered with
attention problems (easily getting distracted).
Can nutritious food really make us WELL and
FEEL BETTER? 😊
Numerous studies show the benefit of good
nutrition for:
1.
Reducing illness
(lowering risk of infections ie Covid-19, colds), as well as obesity and
diabetes, asthma, heart disease and cancer.
2. Building up your immune system
3. Weight loss
4. Improving focus and concentration
5. Better sleep
6. Improving athletic performance
7. When combined with good workouts (like you
receive at the dojo!) it can build strong muscles and help with endurance
8. Improving bone density
9. Looking and feeling younger
10. Giving you more energy
💕With
warmest wishes, Dr. Gold
